After all the natural forces that we endured, and while we waited the onset of the locusts (who surely must be coming next) there was a lot of good times and good fun. The 10k was glorious. Thousands of folks showed up and many in costume- one of which was our Sweet Potato Queen, Carol.
The locusts never did come, but we did stop at sunset yesterday and watch the emergence of the bats from under the bridge near the hotel. Thousand of bats stream out into the ebbing day and swarm the sky. It was an amazing sight, and the evening was perfection.
